Here are a few of my projects that I quite enjoyed making, along with useful services and products I’ve developed:
ET PayRent
Tech Stack :
A company I co-founded with my childhood friend to revolutionize and simplify property and financial management for landlords, tenants, and real estate professionals in Ethiopia. Recognizing the inefficiencies in traditional property management systems, we set out to create a modern, digital-first platform that streamlines real estate operations and financial tracking.
What Does EtpayrentRent Do?
EtpayRent is designed to empower landlords and property managers by offering tools that help them efficiently handle their rental properties, tenants, and finances. Our platform provides:
Automated Rent Collection & Tracking – Simplifies rent payments and ensures seamless financial management.
Property Listing & Tenant Management – Helps landlords list their properties, screen tenants, and manage leases.
Expense & Financial Reporting – Tracks expenses, generates reports, and provides insights for better financial decisions.
Legal & Compliance Support – Ensures landlords stay compliant with Ethiopian rental regulations.
User-Friendly Interface – Built with simplicity in mind, making it easy for users of all backgrounds to navigate.
Why EtpayRent?
Ethiopia’s real estate sector is rapidly growing, but property management is often handled through manual processes, paper-based records, and fragmented communication. This leads to inefficiencies, missed payments, and poor tenant experiences. EtapyRent digitizes and centralizes these operations, making property management more efficient, transparent, and hassle-free.
Our vision is to empower property owners with cutting-edge technology while creating a smoother renting experience for tenants. Through continuous innovation, we aim to become Ethiopia’s go-to platform for real estate and financial management.
Where are we now ?
We were recently approved for a business license and are currently in the process of integrating Ethiopian payment systems. We plan to launch our pilot program by March to begin testing and refining our platform.
Virginia Tech, Engineering 1226 Class Project
August 2024 – December 2024
For our Engineering 1226 project, my team and I designed and built an innovative, stringless, and touchless musical instrument an electronic guitar alternative that did not previously exist. This instrument utilized an Arduino-based system with a distance sensor, allowing users to play notes by moving their hands in the air.
I was responsible for programming the Arduino system to interpret hand movements and generate corresponding musical notes.
Additionally, I designed, 3D-printed, and physically crafted custom components to bring the project to life, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
